Waterfall - Ian Nicholson

A lovely day out for the family would be to the Red Kite Feeding Station. In the
summer time they feed (beef) them at 3pm and would be a delight to watch and see close up. The Red Kites were voted ‘Wales’ most favourite bird in 2007.

Location and Places to Visit

The location of Bridge House Cottage is close to Builth Wells, Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. Abergavenny is about a 30 minute drive, with Hereford only 45 minutes away via country lanes. Should you fancy a day out town shopping, Cardiff is just over an hours drive.

If you enjoy walking then you are in the perfect spot, ‘The Wye Valley Walk’ passes
right in front of the cottage, which means you can join the walk with only a

If the weather is good, then why not try gliding and soar over the Brecon Beacons
National Park in a glider from the Black Mountains Gliding Club.  This is a wonderful
way to view the countryside in total peace and quiet. www.blackmountainsgliding.co.uk

Best place to take the kids other than a theme park is Llangorse Multi Activity Centre. This gives the opportunity to spend some quality time doing active sports as a family together, such as Sky trekking or Dingle scrambling and lots more.

The River Wye is also popular for canoeing with a canoe centre at Glasbury www.wyevalleycanoes.co.uk.

Builth Wells has the Royal Welsh Showground with its many shows all year round, but it also has a cinema, theatre and a swimming pool, so there plenty to do locally.
